I haven't had time to work on these yet.

I did rebuild one unit as RAID 10 so I can get a working mirror. This is the first step in saving the proper image for this unit. I'm going to see if I can duplicate it with some backup software while it's plugged into an external SATA dock. I needed a duplicate disk and then I will pull one and note which drive appears to be missing if the unit comes back up properly. This will help me document the physical disk controller cabling as well.

I have (4) of these NAS. I bought them a long time ago. I had retired them a long time ago but recently I took them out and decided I'd either sell them or upgrade them to use much larger disks if possible They have (2) 500 mb disks in them, and I'd like to put (2) 2gb disks in them. They only support RAID 0 or RAID 10.

I'm going to document and gather whatever resources I can before Lenovo (who bought Iomega) nukes it all from their sites.

Warning: This guide is made for the ix2, not the ix2-200! These are two completely different machines.

It's very difficult to locate any information about the first model, the ix2. Plenty of images and hacks for the ix2-200 though, so make sure you are interested in the very first model, the plain ix2 which had (2x500gb) for "1TB" (~900gb useable)
